Information for Rhinestone Transfers

What can Rhinestone transfers be applied to?
First, rhinestone transfers are only suitable for use by adults and are for adult apparel only. Our transfers are not intended for children or for children's apparel.   Transfers can be applied to any fabric that can withstand 300F (Please note that rhinestones will not adhere to materials that have been treated for wrinkle or stain resistance, have moisture or dry wick technology, sizing treatment, or preservative treatment.  Check with the manufacturer if you are unsure whther your garment has been pretreated with anything before applying.  Heavy polar fleece also does not allow rhinestones to adhere well).  These include cotton, wool, lycra, stretch velour, nylon, denim, linen, and polyester.  We recommend to check garment tags prior to applying heat or testing a small area with an iron prior to applying a transfer.  We assume no responsibility to damage to garments during the application process.

How do I apply rhinestone transfers?
The best way to apply rhinestone or rhinestud transfers is with a heat press.  If you do not have a heat press, you can use an iron.  If you are in the New Orleans area, you can bring your own shirt (adult shirts only, we do not apply transfers to children's clothes) to our store to have a design applied for $3.00 in addition to the price of the transfer.  Please note, we generally do not apply transfers to your garments that contain  ruffles, buttons, zippers, or heavy seams, garments made of fleece, garments that have instructions for low iron.   If you have such a garment we will need to see it first to determine whether or not if it is acceptable

1. Remove the white backing from the transfer.
2.  Check to make sure no stones have moved out of place.  If any have moved simply put them back in place with a pair of tweezers.
3. Place the transfer sticky side down onto the fabric.  You may want to use a thin pressing cloth between fabrics layers to prevent the adhesive from gluing the layers together.
4.  It is now ready to press with your heat press machine : 340F light to medium pressure (30-40 lbs) 12-15 seconds
5. Let the transfer cool till it is warm to the touch then slowly peel off the plastic tape.  If the stones did not stick, simply lay the transfer back down and re-press.

Please note: We assume no responsibilty for damage to your garment or transfers during the application process.

Iron On Instructions - Click for Video
4. Set the iron to the highest possible setting for your fabric (the wool or cotton setting is the most desirable).
5.   You want to iron on a hard flat surface (not a padded ironing board). Place a thin pressing cloth over the design.  Apply pressure only with NO STEAM by placing the iron directly on top of the design and holding it in place for 20-30 seconds.  For larger designs, you will have to do this in sections.
6.  Wait for the transfer tape to cool but still remain a little warm to the touch then slowly remove it.  If any of the stones remain on the tape, simply lay it back down and iron over those stones.
7.  Once the transfer tape is removed, turn the garment inside out and iron the design following the instructions above.  This helps pull the adhesive into the fabric.
Please note: We assume no responsibilty for damage to your garment or transfers during the application process.

How do I care for rhinestone garments/shirts?
You can machine wash them inside out in cold water on the delicate or hand wash cycle.  We recommend to line or hang dry.
